Anatomy of a dossier
Nine sections, four indicators, and an evidence chain on every important claim. Three illustrative dossiers below show the format at phase-1 and phase-2 coverage. The companies are fictional; the sources, identifiers and limits are the real ones.
Sections
- Identity and official records: which legal entity, which jurisdiction, status, as of when
- Ownership and control: shareholders and controllers where public; company-stated where not, labelled
- People: officers and related persons from official records
- Financial and capital: filings, offerings (amount offered and amount sold kept apart), public accounts; no estimated valuations without method
- Legal and regulatory: allegation, pending, decided and discontinued distinguished; same-name exclusions recorded
- Intellectual property: patents, trademarks, assignments, chain of title
- Web and documents: what the company says about itself, and what is corroborated
- Client and employee feedback: source, date, sample size and verification method; withheld below n=5
- Private data room: company-supplied, by grant only, never in the public dossier
Indicators, never one score
- Completeness: share of mandatory sections with full coverage
- Freshness: days since the oldest material source was refreshed
- Open questions: what is unresolved, listed
- Human review: who reviewed and when
Evidence chain
Source → original location → document date → retrieval date → entity match → verification status → contradictions. A number without a chain is not shown.
